Blogging helps get visitors to your website.

Boom.

Now if that is not important enough of a reason for a company to begin posting blogs then we don’t know what is.

But in all seriousness, the goal of any business is to make their company and product aware to as many people in their target audience as possible. Blogging happens to be an easy, continuous, and relatively cost free way of helping achieve this goal and is an essential tool for any type of business.

Blogging helps get visitors to your web site. We can’t emphasize that enough!

A blog post also serves as an added page, and new content to your website.

This is important for a website for multiple reasons, the main being that it is a supplementary page for a website with new content that can be identified by search engines, which allows for a greater variety in keywords, topics and pages that lead to your website. Blogs provide fresh information and content to your site, which is important for optimization purposes, along with drawing interest to your site.

Blogs answer people’s questions or solve a problem.

You obviously want to target your blog posts around things that your buyer personas would search for. You want a blog that is attempting to help solve a problem for possible customers, or the visitors that view it. You want to answer prospect’s questions and create blogs that are helpful for leads or customers. By providing content to prospective customers that will solve a problem or answer questions they have, then you can build trust with prospects and show that you are experienced and knowledgeable in your respective field.

Every blog is a chance for a visitor to become a lead.

Leads are obviously very important in any customer-based business. They are prospective customers and more importantly people who have voluntarily given you their information in order to view an offer from your company. Getting leads is essential to any business’ success, and by placing a call-to-action on every blog post, luckily that means that every person that views the blog has the option of selecting it and filling out their information, or becoming a lead.

Blogs are like a free investment that keeps on returning dividends.

A blog takes time and thought to write, so there is something that you have to put into it. Other than that it doesn’t cost anything, which is why we think of it as a free investment.

What if only one or two people, or maybe even zero, view your blog? If one person views that blog, that’s one person directed to your web site. Investments are meant to pay off over time, which a blog can do. One or two people may view your blog after one day, but, by the end of the week maybe 10 people have viewed it, and maybe by the end of the month, 50 people have. That blog will always be out there and it will always be generating traffic to your site.

Blogging brings more traffic to your site.

This takes me back to our first point. Blogs generate traffic to your web site, which is the main goal of any digital marketing program.

Generating more traffic to your web site increases the chances of converting those visitors into leads. The more leads that a company gets, the more chances of closing leads into customers.

As We’ve said throughout this post, blogging can help increase the traffic that visits your site, make your website more popular and findable, solve customers’ and prospective leads’ problems or answer questions, and is an essential tool for any company that wants a strong online presence.

The challenge most marketers face is developing blog content that educates but doesn’t sell. Blogs should be written in an education, brand-neutral style. The free guide below is the first step that we use in our blog training to explain how to write an educational blog post. Use it to craft a better business blog post!
